The
best candidates are younger patients who have fatty deposits
in the middle or lateral neck associated with muscle laxity
and muscle banding, but with only minimal or moderate
skin excess.

Only
one small 1 inch long incision is made directly below
the chin. Liposuction is performed to remove the excess
fat from the neck, followed by a tightening of the SMAS
(superficial muscle aponeurotic system) muscles of the
midline neck including the platysma muscle. Any excess
skin is trimmed and the incision is closed. A small wrap
around head and neck dressing is applied and all sutures
are removed in 7 days. Full activity is resumed in 2 weeks.
